PRICING

What drives the cost.

How costs add up

Base44

Base44 separates messages used while building from integration credits used by connected app operations. Builder is listed at $40/month when billed annually, with 250 message credits and 10,000 integration credits per month.

  • Check the plan required for your workflow: GitHub sync is documented for Builder and above.
  • Budget for both changes made by the team and integration activity generated by people using the app.

Adios

Apps must fit within plan resources. The free workspace supports development and previews with your own AI provider key; production apps require a paid plan. Include external services in your estimate.

Plans and allowances ↗

For an internal invoice tool, count the people editing the app separately from invoices, emails, and other connected operations. Compare the appropriate Base44 plan with the resources and external service costs needed to operate the same tool on Adios.

A CLOSER LOOK

Technical details & migration.

How much backend setup you want to own

Base44

Base44 supplies MongoDB-compatible NoSQL entities, authentication, permissions, and an SDK. It is a coherent starting point for an app built around users and business records, with less infrastructure to assemble before the first usable version.

Adios

Adios runs your application and the database services you select. For an existing SQL schema or an API with its own access-control model, you can keep that architecture. Your team remains responsible for schema migrations and permission logic.

Adios documentation ↗

Start with the data model: an inventory app built around Base44 entities has different requirements from an existing Postgres application with joins, migrations, and custom authorization.

The boundary of built-in hosting

Base44

Base44's site hosting supports single-page applications and static exports, not server-side rendering or React Server Components. Its backend can still be used through the SDK with a frontend hosted elsewhere.

Adios

Adios uses build and start commands to run application processes. A server-rendered frontend can have its own runtime configuration, alongside a separate API or worker, with ports, health checks, and resources defined in the manifest.

Adios documentation ↗

If server rendering is a requirement, decide where that server runs before building the UI. That does not necessarily mean replacing a Base44 backend that already meets your needs.

Local development and the export boundary

Base44

Base44 supports two-way GitHub integration on Builder plans and above. Its export includes frontend and backend function code, but not the managed authentication system or database infrastructure. Collections can be exported separately as CSV.

Adios

Adios supports a repository or local source as the starting point. You can use the CLI to deploy and inspect logs while keeping application code in Git. Bringing exported function code still means adapting it to the runtime and services you choose.

Adios documentation ↗

Treat export as source access, not a complete copy of the hosted platform. Include identity, entity permissions, uploaded files, and integrations in your portability assessment.

Which fits my project?

A small team's internal records app

Consider Base44

A portal for contacts, tasks, or invoices may fit its entities and built-in user management well. Validate the permission rules with the roles your team actually uses.

An existing server-rendered product

Consider Adios

If you need to preserve a server process, SQL schema, or custom API, configurable application hosting can fit more directly than adapting the project to a builder's backend model.

A Base44 app needing a different frontend host

Consider a partial move

You may be able to keep using Base44 through its SDK. First establish whether the constraint is site hosting, backend capabilities, or a requirement to operate the whole stack elsewhere.

Recommendations by Adios, based on the documentation linked above.

Moving from Base44 to Adios

Base44 code export and collection exports are separate. Inventory the managed services before treating a repository as a deployable replacement.

  1. Export code and document the current behavior

Use the available GitHub or ZIP export on a qualifying plan. Record screens, API calls, backend functions, permissions, and integrations that must continue working.

  2. Choose which backend services stay

Keep the Base44 SDK connection for a frontend-only move, or design replacement data and identity services. For a full move, map entity IDs, relationships, access rules, and exported collection data.

  3. Adapt functions and configure the runtime

Review Base44-specific SDK calls in exported functions. Add build and start commands, secrets, health checks, and the required service connections to the Adios project.

  4. Rehearse with each user role

Test account access, record ownership, file access, and integrations before switching traffic. Reconcile data after a trial import and plan how writes are handled during the final move.

Suggested steps, not an automatic importer. Rehearse before changing production.

BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

A few useful answers.

Can Base44 host a server-rendered Next.js app?

Base44 documents its site hosting for SPAs and static exports, without server-side rendering or React Server Components. A frontend hosted on another platform can still use Base44's backend SDK. Distinguish the hosting restriction from the backend's ability to serve another frontend.

Does a Base44 export include the entire backend?

No. The documented export includes frontend and backend function code. Managed hosting, authentication, and database infrastructure are not exported. Collection data can be exported separately, and any replacement services need their own setup and migration.

Is Base44 GitHub sync available on every plan?

Base44's documentation places two-way GitHub sync on Builder plans and above. Check the current plan requirements before choosing a workflow that depends on local development and repository sync.
